Allograft Bio-Implants: Safe From The Start.

When medical professionals make their choice among allograft tissue suppliers, it is critical that they select a reputable, accredited tissue processor that provides safe allografts. Safe, quality allograft bio-implants start with the training of LifeNet Health of Florida’s skilled recovery staff.
In-depth training consists of sterile and surgical technique in addition to human anatomy. The majority of tissue recoveries are performed in an operating room. This is a more controlled environment that houses the equipment and space that is needed for this surgical procedure. The tissue is individually cultured for bacterial growth and wrapped in four sterile barriers to prevent cross contamination. Once recovery is completed, our skilled technicians perform a restorative reconstruction of the donor that consists of a funeral home-friendly prosthetics to help aid the funeral home and a surgical suture of all incision sites. The recovered tissue is then shipped on ice by courier to the LifeNet Health processing facility in Virginia Beach. The quality department team gathers all necessary documents, such as complete medical records, autopsy and pathology reports, culture results and serological results. Once this information is obtained, the medical director and team determine if the allograft tissues are safe for release and transplantation into another individual.
The LifeNet Health record of safety is unmatched. Since 1995, LifeNet Health has distributed nearly 3 million allograft bio-implants without a single incidence of disease transmission. A special thanks to our donors and donor families for giving the ultimate gift to help others.
