Focus on Safety:
Extensive Review Process and Stringent Quality Measures Ensure Safety in Accepting Donors

How many of LifeNet Health’s donation referrals actually receive authorization for tissue donation? You may be surprised to learn that only 2.0% of total donor referrals are released for transplantation. That’s a small percentage, but our extensive review process and stringent quality measures are in place to ensure the safety of LifeNet Health’s allograft bio-implants.

LifeNet Health uses an extensive Donor Medical History and Behavioral Risk Assessment questionnaire that is composed of more than 30 categories of questions designed to uncover situations that would preclude a potential donor from the donation process. When administered by a properly trained medical professional and when followed by stringent laboratory testing, the likelihood of transmission of viral, bacterial, fungal, and other non-viral pathogens becomes remote.

Of all potential donations referred to LifeNet Health, only 2.0% are accepted as suitable for donation and are ultimately processed into allografts. This extensive Donor Criteria process, coupled with LifeNet Health’s stringent quality measures and patented sterilization technology (Allowash XG®) has allowed the distribution of over 2.6 million allograft bio-implants without an incidence of disease transmission since 1995.
